October Staff Senate Meeting Updates
Mountaineer Medics
- EM/EHS presented their newest service, Mountaineer Medics, which provides quicker medic response times on campus and free medical care. This includes giving you a full evaluation, medical guidance, and helping find you free transport to the local hospital or urgent care.
Health and Wellness Help
- Health Promotions for Faculty and Staff talked about their updated general health screenings. You can receive vision screening, blood glucose, biometrics, and more (for free!). They will be set up in four different locations this fall to meet you where you are.
Open Enrollment
- Human Resources updated us on the Open Enrollment help sessions taking place in the Plemmons Student Union and what differences you can expect to see in your health plan this year.
Staff Senate Committee Updates
- Staff Senate committees gave presentations on their goals for the year and how you can get involved. Committees include: AppKids, Events, Fundraising, Marketing, Staff Scholarships, and Staff Shoutouts.

Staff Senate meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and are open to all university staff.
The next Staff Senate meeting will be held on November 11, 2025 1:30-3:00 PM on the App State Hickory campus! Join us in Hickory or via Zoom. A carpool bus will be available - fill out the Google Form by October 24th to reserve your spot. Discussion topics will include SEANC's health care benefits and Sustainability's initiatives for this year.
