April Staff Senate Meeting Updates
SEANC
Janice Smith and Adam Winebarger from SEANC talked about how SEANC can support staff and the upcoming lobby day in May. They are seeking input on the biggest concerns for state employees.
Exam Schedules
Clark Maddux with the University Registration and Calendar Committee presented the new potential exam schedules, which may include exams on weekends, and asked for feedback. The Staff Senate is collecting questions and recommendations through a Google Form that will be shared with Clark.
App Builds a Home
App Builds a Home talked about their Blitz Build event this fall, which will be taking place right next to campus to allow for easier participation.
Human Resources
Marshall Parks, Interim Chief of Human Resources, shared some draft documentation for flexible work arrangements and temporary salary increases.
Maria Kowalsky with Human Resources talked about the menu for this year's Staff Appreciation events and their upcoming professional development opportunity for employees, BASE Training.

Staff Senate meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:30-3:00 p.m. in 421 Belk Library and Information Commons and are open to all university staff.
The next Staff Senate meeting will be held on May 12, 2026 1:30-3:00 PM or via Zoom.
