Arts & Cultural Programs

This committee advises and recommends selection of artists for the Performing Arts Series. Committee list attached.

Campus Safety & Security

This committee is responsible for the oversight and coordination of safety and security programs at the University. It promotes methods to identify, mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from risks and threats to the University using an all-hazard model for safety and security.

Early Intervention Team

The Early Intervention Team is a faculty and staff-led team. Its main function is to meet with students who are showing signs of difficulty with university life and who have been referred by faculty or staff, to offer support and connect students with resources that can assist them to become healthier and more productive members of the community.

Faculty Awards

This committee elects and facilitates University and external awards including. but not limited to, the Board of Governors Awards for Excellence in Teaching, ASU Teaching Awards and the O. Max Gardner award.

Harvey Durham Freshman Advocate Award

This committee annually honors one outstanding full-time Appalachian State University employee who has contributed significantly to improving the freshman experience on the university campus.

Library Services

This committee implements policies and procedures in the Carol G. Belk Library and Information Commons. Committee list attached.

Registration & Calendar Committee

This committee implements policies governing registration, academic scheduling, and the Appalachian State University calendar.

Staff Benefits

This committee reviews present programs, approves changes and makes additions to the fringe benefit package.

Sustainability Council

The Sustainability Council at Appalachian State University is a 60+ member group of administrators, faculty, students and staff charged with setting and executing the vision for sustainability on our campus.

Traffic and Parking

This committee is responsible for reviewing and developing policies regarding traffic and parking.

Tuition Committee

This committee is responsible for evaluating and making recommendations to the Chancellor concerning requests to change the campus-initiated portion of student tuition.

University Planning and Priorities Council

Appalachian's 32-member University Planning and Priorities Council (UPPC) is leading the process for planning the strategic direction of Appalachian for the next five years.
