The App State Kindness In Donation and Service, or AppKIDS, Committee leads one of the Staff Senate's most impactful and community-centered initiatives. Each year, the committee organizes AppKIDS, an annual program that supports local K–12 students in Watauga County.
Committee members work throughout the year to coordinate planning, fundraising, outreach, volunteer engagement, donations and event logistics that make AppKIDS possible. The committee collaborates closely with the Fundraising and Marketing Committees, campus departments, community partners and volunteers to help ensure a meaningful and successful experience for participating students and families.
The committee works to:
- Coordinate and support the annual AppKIDS initiative
- Organize volunteers, donations, outreach and event logistics
- Collaborate with campus and community partners to strengthen support efforts
- Promote awareness and engagement across the university community
- Support fundraising and communication efforts connected to AppKIDS
- Help create a positive and meaningful experience for participating children and volunteers
This committee is a great fit for Staff Senators who are passionate about supporting local youth and giving back to the community. Valuable skills and interests include organization, teamwork, communication, event coordination, collaboration, working with children and community engagement.
Staff Senators are encouraged to contribute ideas, energy and compassion while helping continue a long-standing App State tradition of service and support for local families.All App State staff members are welcome to join this committee, you do not have to be a Senator.
