Scholarships for Permanent Appalachian Staff and Dependents
The purpose of the Appalachian State University Staff Senate Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarship(s) to permanent, full-time, non-faculty employees and their dependents who are taking either undergraduate or graduate level courses at an accredited institution of higher education. Scholarships are awarded annually in the Spring. Awards are not automatically renewable from year to year. Interested parties must apply each year; however, the renewal of scholarships for previous recipients will be taken into consideration. Scholarship awards are based on the availability of funds; however, each scholarship award will not exceed $1000.
Requirements to apply for a Staff Senate Scholarship:
Applicants must be an Appalachian State University permanent, full-time, non-faculty employee or their dependent who is taking either undergraduate or graduate level courses at an accredited institution of higher education.
Dependent applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student during the scholarship award period.
Permanent, full-time, non-faculty employees do not need to be enrolled as a full-time student during the scholarship award period.
Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative, unweighted grade point average in their current or most recent academic experience.
Applications are evaluated on financial need and academic performance.
Scholarship applications must include the following:
An unofficial transcript from your current and/or most recent educational institution. The Staff Senate Scholarship Committee reserves the right to request an official transcript as needed.
A 300 - 500 word error-free, personal statement that addresses 1) your academic and/or professional goals, 2) your financial need, and 3) how this scholarship will help you meet your academic and/or professional goals. Please include as much detail as possible as this information will be used in evaluating scholarship applications. Your personal statement should be professional, clear, and cohesive.

Deadline:
Complete applications must be received by Monday, March 11, 2024 at 9:00 am.
Incomplete, inaccurate, or late applications will be withdrawn from consideration.
